Title: They've de-rattled it.
Post by: Itsme on May 07, 2021, 10:14:55 AM
Hi Thumperteers

My rattly Suzuki GN250 rattles no more! The dealer who supplied it (Churchill Motorcycles) have just brought it back and it sounds wonderful. They said it needed the valve clearances setting and they have done a smashing job.

It is great in these days of slipshod work to find a dealer who cares and can do the job well.

It's amazing what a difference tightening up loose tappets make. Now go out and enjoy it 🏍?👍

Ha ha, that's exactly what I've been doing since they dropped it off.

All what is said is of course true as one would expect frm this august gathering. However, with tappets I always err on the side of loose rather than tight - although within spec of course. As aficionados of a certian V twin say "a tappy Guzzi is a happy Guzzi".
