Title: Fork gaiters
Post by: Ric00ard on February 05, 2021, 06:51:34 PM
Hi. Can anyone recommend a set of fork gaiters for a Honda SLR650 ? I have measured my forks as requiring a gaiter that has a top ID of 41mm ( the stanchion OD ) and a bottom ID of 60mm to fit snugly over the top of the fork leg. The length required seems to be about 240mm. I wasn’t expecting to find a set with these exact dimensions, but the only ones that seem near are either too long at 330mm or the bottom ID, at 52mm may not stretch over the 60mm fork leg. Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I've always found Ariete to be the best gaiters as cheaper ones seem to split in no time. https://www.ariete.com/en/off-road/accessories/fork-gaiters/fork-gaiters (https://www.ariete.com/en/off-road/accessories/fork-gaiters/fork-gaiters)
Looks like you need 09974 towards the bottom of the page.

I'm not actually a fan of gaiters as I find they tend to collect muck and dampness (as they need a vent to let air in & out). For a road bike I'd not bother.

ive used neoprene ones on bikes before now, they dont perish like rubber and look tons better. most of the off road guys use them now.
