Title: Polishing Honda engine cases
Post by: richardeblack on October 24, 2020, 10:41:02 AM
Hello All,
Yet another question (I feel I am beginning to monopolise this a bit, sorry).
Has anyone polished the Honda engine cases with any success?  Is the alloy good enough to polish and not corrode quickly?
I have looked at some engine lacquer options but would much rather just polish them.
Thanks.
Richard.

Yes they can Richard - not been tested in anger yet but if they are anything like my w650 then just give them an occasional polish and spray them with ACF-15 or similar during the winter. (ps - I cant take any credit for the polishing!)

Regards

Tony

Hello Tony,
Sorry I didn't thank you for your reply.  Only just seen I hadn't!!  I am a bit useless with these things.
I did polish up some cases and they have come up lovely.  They do seem to corrode easily though so will watch out for that.
Yours look really good, better than mine.
Cheers,
Richard.
