That's a great idea - indeed that kind of lube is available FREE here in Edinburgh, along with other health products, in certain pubs, social spaces, and drop-in centres.

Still easier to take loose tyres to the shop I think.

Aye, tis in Fife too, but no in Perth & Kinross where I reside.   

So, will invest to get those carb rubbers into position.

KY Jelly.  Seriously.  Awesome stuff for rubber lube that won't rot your tyres or rims - for obvious reasons.  I carry some in my toolkit.
