matchless tyre choice

The tyres on my g3 have good tread but thats the only good point, they are at least 30 years old and will be changed soon, i was going to get a pair of Mitas but a friend has a year old , never fitted Avon speedmaster,  problem is do i use the avon and another tyre (can`t afford the second avon, 2 mitas are cheaper) or a pair of mitas... if i get another tyre to `match` tha avon of a different make what should i get that will work with a ribbed front.  i don`t know, any suggestions

I think I used H02s on the Enfield. I currently use Oponeo for tyres, but I believe Mytyres are also good, as well as Ian's suggestion below.

Mitas are reasonable tyres and I had some on my G80S. I found the 3.50 x 19 quite small for a 3.50 section and if I was buying them again would possibly go for a 4.00 - which would also help with what I thought was very low gearing on the Matchless.

i will get Mitas H)2 for both ends i think, is a 4.00" the same width as a 4.10 ?   thinking of a 3.50" front 4.00" rear, what do you think ? there is plenty of clearance with the 4.10

Mitas are good, I have on on the back of old blue and I'm currently debating in my mind whether to get one for the front of my the SD I'm working on, or go for a slightly cheaper tyre I can get through work. It's a price difference of just under £5 but with me every penny counts and I must admit I never find much difference to the feel of my bikes whichever tyre I buy, so I tend to always go for the cheapest option which is what I'll likely do with the SD, although then I get the choice of ribbed or block pattern, but I have no hurry to decide as it has to wait until the money comes through from my on line surveys, another week and a bit probably.
