Aye onthecheap and Andy,

Apologies for my 'duff' advice about batteries and sorry to read of the Kirriemuir incident, now I know, I will keep the eyes peeled and the ears open as I know quite a few folk in the older bike circles up here. Perthshire/Angus/Fife area, if you wish to provide specific details via a PM, they will go no further unless requested. Don't see many Tritons out and about, I missed todays Scottish Classic Motorcycle Club 'meet up', at St.Fillans, so don't know what was there apart from this blog: Gino's_blog Gino also knows a few and has a dislike for 'light fingered' people and might help.

At last years 'meet up' this beastie appeared, I don't think that it is yours, but!

Success with the 'Frogeyes' Andy.

My regards, Bill

I met Gino on a ferry (2 up on my 650 Dommi) in 2001, going to Netherlands.

His hair is a bit like lighter, but other than that his regard of the venerable oil throwers apparently wanes not!

Thanks all for insight on this (not eve a single) issue...

Tattie bye

.....between the engine plates between engine and box.

I had the power box there, but recently its failure made me suspect heat.

Will make up a wee battery box, and use a alarm battery, and vins an alternative site for the power box when it comes back from boyer for testing.

Cheers
Andy

And the test tells me that my ignition box is fine, but the Powerbox has failed.

I think I will replace it with the same  ::)  unless anyone else can suggest an alternative to the Boyer power box- 2 leads in from alternator, and a (+) and (-) output.

I am actually quite pleased that the problem is simple.  It was breaking down when hot, meaning not giveing 12v to my ignition box.  I also now dont have to change the alternator. which was my next line of enquiry.

I will however re-site it, and fit a battery.  Will post up when done!

Cheers

I assume the 'mechanic' will be giving assistance?  ;) Not having to phaff with the alternator will be a welcome respite.

Hope it all goes well.

We are to be flooded and blown away this weekend, so been for a good hurl today.  ;) Workshop this weekend!

Good health, Bill

Ok, 2 posts in one day. A record for me in the last 5 years.

I got a motobatt, seems all good.

Bent up a battery carrier (cannot be called a box!!), and that sits between the engine plates. New boyer powerbox under the seat,  and a rewire to suit and it seems ok-ish?

I have even fitted a kick start and oil tap, plus (behold!) A side stand,  and its almost usable as transport?  Still bloody noisy,  mind!

Pic in a mo...

"Noisy!" Never! That isn't a failing, with the likes of that (in your own words!  ::) ) 'Jezzer' Vine weaving his way between the dashed lines down the middle of the road in your neck of the woods.  ;)

Trumpet away, that "RoyalJordanian" (YouTube) making progress through the traffic on his Nuda, maybe an arrogant  ***! But, that pipe certainly catches the attention of jay walkers and wobbly riders, yet can wiffle when approaching the polis vehicle.

Happy trumpeting and spannering.

My regards, Bill
