Very leaky cork petrol tap on my C12. Could I just wrap the cork in PTFE tape?. Would soaking cork in water first help? Can I just cut a new one out of a cork?

No, to the first, might, but why not in petrol? And, yes, as suggested on other thread champagne corks!
My regards, Bill

no. dont wrap it in anything. take the cork out and pop it in a pan of boiling water. this swells the cork back up to its usual size. old old brit bike trick (from a fellow beezer owner)
