Help major problem

I had problems with clearance  because the original clocks were too big, so I have swapped them for mini clocks.
No problem with the speedo but I cannot get the rev counter working properly, the rev counter is advertised as fitting any bike.
The needle sweeps when I switch the ignition on but only shows half of the running rpm
Any ideas anyone

Just been talking to M&P who I got the rev counter from, and it doesnt work on a single, even though I checked with them first and was told it did.
I am now urgently looking for a rev counter that does work with a single, and I only have a week before its taxed
Ideas anyone ?

I'm using a koso job, same size, on a twin but it can be set for any number of cylinders. Jon pullara at digital speedo's is yer man. He'll confirm this hopefully.

I had a look at those Koso rev counters but was put off them by the fact they register up to 15000 rpm Imreally looking for a unit that goes no further than maybe 9000 rpm

Ah, yeah that's true. Mine is on a gpz500 so I needed the range. I know digital speedos do Daytona instruments and I believe the Rev range is right for the xbr.

The other thing is, do you need a tacho for the mot? I wouldn't have thought so.

Going back to the item you have, is there no way to "fool" it. Tell it your a two stroke or something! The Koso took a bit of head scratching to get it to read the right rpm. The instructions for wiring were good, but for actually setting the rpm the instructions were pathetic. Had to figure it out the hard way.

Hi joolz, yes propellor is correct in saying that Daytona do, do a digital rev counter that is spot on for the rev range of the XBR, stops at 8000rpm. Dimensions are:65mm dia  45mm deep, all stainless. I got mine from digital speedos but never actually fit it as I eventually fit a combined rev counter/speedo (koso) again from digital speedos. Well I bit the bullet this morning and bought the Daytona rev counter, just hope it works ok, looks really nice and suits the cafe racer styling perfectly
