I had a very similar conversation with my mate Tony today. It used to be that if you put another engine into an already registered frame, then you just sent off your V5 with the new engine number written in the changes section. Then, a couple of weeks later, your V5 returns with the update.
However, Tony reckons that now if you put another engine in, there's more too it, such as producing receipts for the engine  :-\
So be careful Mart, and keep us all informed  :)

Ok, after my letters of rejection from the DVLA concerning registering the GB250s, a new V5 arrived today for an XBR i bought in Dublin recently. I havnt taxed, MOTd or insured it, and it now has an age related 1986 D reg  :D. Also, when I went online earlier to SORN it, the answer came back that it was already SORNed  :-\
The DVLA obviously work in mysterious ways!
