Honda GB250

That sounds like a plan. Alison has an XBR with RS hubs laced too bought rims, but the bike has been tucked away for the winter, at the back of the house. I will hopefully pull it out tomorrow, and post some info and measurements on here tomorrow if you want

Just picked up a few more GB bits from a guy in Leeds. £30 for the lot. Was well pleased, as it turned out to be more than I expected. As the saying goes, "one persons crap is another persons treasure", or something like that

Amongst all the bits and pieces I picked up was a tax disc, with a UK reg, even though the bikes came from southern Ireland. Put the reg into the DVLA enquiry site and it came up as a 1990 GB250. So sent in a V62 app for a replacement log book and cheque for £25. Letter arrived today to say log book on its way, so that's a result!  . Weird thing is that this is for the pile of bits, rather than the one of the three near complete GBs

Have I gone mad? In the past two weeks I have cleared out two breakers of all their GB250 bits. Had been keeping an eye on eBay, and noticed that GB 250 stuff just isn't selling. Probably because so few people are familiar with them, or are renovating them. So I looked at all the bits they had on eBay, and made an offer for the lot, which they accepted. So I'm well impressed. I'll end up with some bits I don't need, but gain by having got some of the real important stuff, well cheap.

Ah, yes, interesting topic. To reg in UK you have to first tax, which requires an MOT and insurance. I can't MOT until bikes are roadworthy, so basically they they don't exist. Also you need a dating letter from Honda. Honda UK, who want £30 for this and weren't very helpful. Honda Ireland were awesome, and emailed these to me free of charge. If you ever contact them in Dublin, ask for Leon Bias. Great guy, real helpful.The bike that is a pile of bits now has a UK logbook in my name cause I found an old tax disc with a UK reg, and applied for a new logbook for £25.

Hi Timbo, I have just acquired a CBX250RSE as a Winter project and to use the wheels as an upgrade for my XBR with CB250RS wheels. The rear is fitted OK but the front disc of the CBX is too small a diameter to allow me to use the front wheel on the XBR (and it has a 4 hole fitting).
You seem to have cornered the market in GB250/CBX250 parts - have you got any to spare?
I need:
Carb to head rubber mount (twin carb)
Ignition switch and key
Headlamp assy

Hi Chris, unfortunately I don't have any parts going spare. Also be carefu,l as only some parts are interchangeable between the GB and the CBX. You can probably buy a generic ignition switch online that might do. Or try Dave Silvers. He can probably cross reference parts for you with other Honda models. I have a friend in Rugby who built a CBX last winter, so he might have stuff. Ill email him and see. Good luck.

Thanks for coming back to me. I have managed to fix the rubber inlet manifold with an alloy brace and copious amounts of araldite - pretty it aint, just as well its mostly hidden. The other bits I got as aftermarket.
