srx carb change
« on: September 30, 2014, 06:15:20 PM »
Hi everyone,I have just joined this forum and hope someone can help me with the set up with the carbs on my bike.I am rebuilding an SRX600.It is in standard trim at the moment apart from an aftermarket exhaust.I might fit a higher comp piston but that will be about it.I am fitting a set of Keihen cv carbs from a GPX 250.Anyone out there done this mod successfully? What size main and pilot jets?Change needle height etc? I think that for every size up on the pilot jet you should go up 3 on the main is this correct? I could really do with getting this right first time.So if you know what you are talking about please get in touch and put me on the right path!

Aye tinman,

Welcome to the 'madness'!  ;D

Whilst my SRX 6 is modified, I'm still running the 'standard' carb setup, so can't help with the GPX 250 carb mod!  :(

However, I suspect that you will have more joy when either or both SteveL and SteveH read the forum or "retired scratcher" Andy230 pokes his head in. I hope you are able to get sorted out soon. In the meantime try the 'Search' facility on the site in the top right hand of the site page, I'm sure that you are not the first person on here enquiring about this mod.

Good health.

My regards, Bill

Absolutely no help with your question, but I had a glance at the spec for the gpx. 45 hp from a 250. Impressed!
