Morning all,
Am I correct in thinking that if I swap the cdi unit from the XBR to one from an xl600r that it will improve the performance of the XBR ? Thanks in advance Michael

I believe you need the CDI from an XL600R - it has more advance than the XBR unit and pepps it up quite a bit I'm told ( though I haven't tried it). I think it just plugs straight in - PM Joolz he knows.

I run an XL600R cdi, plugs straight in and will give you a bit more advance. However I have been told that you cant use an electric start with it, I cant verify that as I dont have an electric starter fitted

Morning joolz,
Thanks for the post, the lack of lecci start would,nt be a problem as I also don,t run one. Think I,ll cost a unit up n give it a try. Regards Michael

I have recently been looking at the crank trigger, I have heard but cannot confirm that some models (I think the XR600) has a wider crank trigger that could give you more advance when fitted to the XBR. There is also a fully programmable cdi available for the XBR, Here is the link

and here is a link on the XL cdi box
