Eliminating battery
« on: May 05, 2013, 08:46:38 AM »
Hi there.

I've decided to build something minimal out of my GN400 and believe that the battery can be eliminated from the electrics. Is this true and can anyone point me in the direction of how to do it please?

Just in case GN400s reach Vincent prices in about 100 years I'm not doing anything irreversible to the frame and am storing all of the original parts for re-conversion if I sell it, but just fancy something different.

Good morning Smithy,

Speak to Pat!  :)  He's already had a major rebuild/modification of one of these and I'm sure he'll be able to offer some solutions.

Then you've the rest of the 'armchair' persuasion, who are bound to either agree or decry!  ;)

Hope it runs well and you enjoy it.

My regards, Bill.

yes, gn ignition is by flywheel magneto and not connected to the charging circuit.
