Just an up date for anyone thats interested done clutch and has as predicted has made a huge improvement also I found a gap in the join between the after market can and the pipe that also made an improvement think I might just give it some race reads and have done with it for now

lol still very unreliable tho takes 10 mins of kicking over some times!

check the condition of your reed valves if it has them. bent reeds can cause poor starting, you can take them off and flip them over if they are bent out. at rest they should be completely shut.

the rubber from carb to reeds is taking in air will need to change that out before it burns a hole in my nice new piston that might be the root of the top end rebuild and maybe starting issue? maybe??

errrr, yes!! why didnt you say that earlier!!! air links on 2 strokes kill engines double fast. sort it before you use it!

only looked at it the other day looked a bit cracked so sprayed a bit of wd40 at it on tic over and sure enough the revs dropped

at the risk of being ridiculed i just checked the reeds and they are burnt out so there you go i know i know you told me so lol at least we got to the bottom of it !
