The XBR restoration is underway. Can anyone tell me how much to budget for a tank, mudguard, side panels and seat plastics respray, and can anyone recommend a company in the Essex area to undertake the job?

Im not in your neck of the woods, but how much you want to spend depends on the quality of the finished product you want to achieve. Im sure you can spend upwards of £1000 if you really want to. Obviously a professional set up will cost more than someone who does it as a side line. I am fortunate in that I have a friend who "does me a good deal" plus the fact I have had quite a few paint sets done by him. I think you are doing the right thing by asking around to start with. Also allow a good time for the job to be done. I suggest you look on other forums and ask the same question. I know I may be sounding a bit vague but the age old question of how long is a piece of string also comes to mind. Dont forget you will probably never recover the cost of paintwork if that comes into your equation!
Hope you get sorted
Regards

The bike is a keeper, so value further down the road is irrelevant, but at the same time, I won't be ripped off.
