MZ Bearing question - 4T snobs look aways now

Hi,
I am ready to purchase some new bearing for a TS 125/50 motor. But I am a bit confused, the parts book provide no information regards shields or seals and the TL designation suggests are rarity beyond belief - plastic caged...

Can some one advise me as to what is best, also the gearbox requires C3 clearance and there is no mention of clearance on the mains and these will no doubt get hotter?

it must be over 20 years since I did my TS250 supa 5 bearings! As I recall the crank seals where inboard of the bearings and in my case where fine - I reused them. The replacement bearings where, IIRC, caged ball type of good qualty that I matched for size but not any clearance or heat tolerance. Whatever - it ran fine for many miles after the replacement - I sold it some years after still running perfectly.

Hi Steff,

C3 is a particularly hot running clearance, I have only used them on high load gearbox mainshafts but I guess a hard working stroker crank is running fairly hot. If you go to somewhere like Brammer they will sort out the bearing you require, they won't necessarily be the cheapest but they will be correct and last.

Use standard replacements from any bearing shop. They don't run hot. Replace the seals at the same time.
