New Dutch
« on: November 21, 2011, 09:33:21 PM »
Hi, I´m new, but not really new. Thrown out off this forum twice. Don´t know why I deserved this, but this is a new try.

Maybe I didn´t properly introduce myself.  :-X

Some people over here know me. I´m Dutch, and if that works against me,  it´s all right.  ;D

Going to the Dragon this winter again.  After a private rally mid January, the Elephant in Bavaria, the Tauern Rally. I like riding in wintertime. My first thumper I bought in 1983........ a XT 600 Ténéré. I´m not young, but still feel like it.  ;)

I would really like to see some of you this winter again. Always loved it to be with you, in Betws, a curry somewhere,  BBQ on a camping site in no man’s land, a great meal at the Dolwen café (hope I spelled that right) or at some cold playground. Me thinks, good guys over here, who not only ride, but also know what they ride. Won´t mention any names, they might get cocky…… :o

(Only one real thumper at the moment. XT600E. 84.000 cliqs done by me without any major problem) And a two stroke single sidecar, but that doesn´t count.

Hello Richard,

Good to hear from you.

I think we will have to introduce some sort of points system for joining. A real actual working single-cylinder four-stroke is the full 10 points, you're in. A sidecar, an MZ or Jawa, a petrol stove, a Landrover, having an opinion on weather presenters or a liking for pickled eggs or chile vodka; all three points each towards the total  ;D

When you say 'thrown out" what do you mean ?. I occasionally clean up accounts that haven't been used for a long period of time, I recently disabled a few accounts because they appeared to have been created by spammers. If you were caught by either of these then my apologies.

And would a Discovery count towards being a Landrover or do we needs a points based system:

If so, I propose the following hierarchy

8.  Series One L/R

7.  Forward Control L/R

6.  Series Two

5.  Series Three

4.  Defender

3.  Discovery

2.  Range Rover

1.  Freelander

We would then have to think about the Bowler (I think it is anyway), 130 conversions and other weird stuff.  Santanas and those funny Dutch ones (thread covergence alert) also count.
Note to Self: Shiney side goes UP.

Hello Richard-NL (the Richard from Holland ;)) who has a 2 ring petrol stove, an MZ attached to his other sidecar and a sensible car.

Good to see you on the forum.

Hi Steve,

Don’t know, but my account was deleted twice. Old posts are still there. Account name is exactly the same, but underneath it says “guest” without history.  If you put my name in the search function, you will find them.
