SLR 650 fork oil - what grade??

Hi
I have and SLR and just drained the forks which much needed fresh oil.
The manual tells me how much and gives an oil level BUT it gives just says 'fork fluid'.
I am heavy and found the forks a little spongy so may increase pre-load a little but what grade do people recommend?
Cheers

'Fork fluid' ?........fork oil is usually 5w the same as auto transmission oil but there are 'stiffer' grades available, suggest 10w and see how you get on.

Thanks - yes the manual is unhelpful.
I'll try some 10w and tune from there.
Cheers
