Membership cards, and ratbikes
« on: January 27, 2007, 10:40:05 PM »
Hello, I've been neglecting the forum for a while. Will the new membership cards be sent out soon? More importantly, I've just noticed that Bruce's Big 4 is putting the imitation ratbikes to shame at www.ratbike.org, or more specifically  http://ratbike.org/pages/787norton.htm

Cheers
Richard

Not really :-( Still unable to sleep for more than a few hours, and no real let up from the leg pain during the day either. Have managed a walk to the village and back (1.5 miles) but paid heavily for it and the trip took over an hour.
Going back to work today, but purely in an administration role (ie sat on my arse at a computer) and the boss is having to ferry me back and forth.

Dislocated pelvis?  Have you popped the suture joints in the pelvis?  I did this years ago playing rugby and result was ongoing problems with groin and neck injuries - that is until a physio who had a fixation about SI joints (The one where your pelvis meets your spine) identified that this was still out - as was the pubis fusion - where the bones meet at the front.  He gave me one hell of a whack and sorted it, meaning I did not end up having surgery to release the muscles and hence the pain.  Loose pelvis joints are a fact of life for women who have had kids too.  If this is it please be sure that the joints are realigned properly - I had seen umpteen physios, chiros etc before this guy.  Have had it reset since too by a lass in Cardiff.  Have been given exercises to strengthen it too - which can be fun if you have a partner to help...

Tennis is a lethal game? I suppose it can be in this weather. Perhaps that's an idea for a future reality T.V. show....." (How do you solve a problem like) Tennis on Ice!! ".  Sorry Pat, I hope you get back to full mobility soon matey. Have you noticed, by the way, how  old Fogeys like SteveD and myself avoid injuries such as this by staying within the safe confines of pubs? No substitute for experience young 'un. :-)

Greeting all,

Just got back from the BSAoc Hot Rod Rally near Eindhoven in my mates Dneiper Outfit I,ll have a look at the Rat bike Site as i feel that most of them think that painting a bike matt black and riveting a rubber rodent to it creates a rat Bike.

It's a bit like tattoos isn't it? Some people start off with a cheeky little tat and that's fine, we can all admire it, but it's not that big an issue. However, some people can't stop with the one, or the ten and soon they look stupid. It's obvious to the rest of us that they look stupid and try too hard, but they carry on.

And so it is with rat bikes. A rusty old relic pulled from a hedge and made to work withouth ever being cleaned or painted is interesting. A shite 80s inline 4 with dead sheep skulls, plastic dolls and whatnot stuck all over it says (to me) that somebody needs to get out more.

Everyone has the right to do what they like to their machine/body/whatever, but by that same token, (and especially when the alteration is soooo obviously in the public domain) every other person has simular right of coment :-)

"You stuffed a turkey on your head and ponced about the streets wanting attention, then I can call you a plonker"

I'm with GC, adornment for 'image' only deserves my disapproval. (unless I like it of course ;-)  )
