MonoConnection 2011 - Netherlands 2nd-4th September
« on: March 21, 2011, 09:03:24 PM »
From the 2nd - 4th September it will be the 20th time that The Monoconnection organizes its yearly international meeting.
Every year we have the privilege of welcoming many enthusiastic riders from West Europe who share their one cylinder passion. Do you ride a SR, SRX, MT-03, XBR, GB, DUKE, SATURNO, MUZ or any other big machine, grab your tent
for the weekend and come to the Weerribben on Friday or Saturdaymorning.

Our Meeting will be at the same place as last year: De Kluft Recreational Centre .  For three days long Ossenzijl, situated in the beautiful scenic area "de Weerribben", will be the Walhalla for the roaring one cylinder street machines.

The programme can be called special as well. Besides the usual tour rides on Saturday at 10.30 a.m, there is also the possibility to visit the Basser TT. These Classic Street Motor Races take place close by the camping site.

Details of last years event can be found HERE

Details of the campsite can be found HERE

And the campsite location is HERE

Hi friends,

Last week I checked: again the Basser TT will be held that weekend. Not sure about the Nuttert van der Heide Rally on sunday though, which turned out to be good fun as well on a sunday. Arrangements on the campsit have been made and there are now bungalows for rent as well.
if you need any assistance for arrangements or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
Oh and I can provide the milk canister and carbid as well...

Good morning guys,

The Basser TT wil also be held this year on saturday, so that's the purpose of one of the tours on saturday. For anyone who missed the weekend last year (read: mr. Dalby...) this is a classic demo-race on a street-circuit. Free admittance (yes even in Holland) and you are more than welcome to visit the bikes, riders and mechanics. As it is only approx. 8 miles from the campsite, you can stay as long as you like and return at the time you like.
On sunday I took some friends to the Nuttert v.d. Heide Rally, which is a pre-war tour for bikes. They set off at 11.00 and it is good fun to see them ride.
Or what about old agricultural equipment? Perhaps finding some spare parts for your bike, mr. Peters! On sunday you can visit the Roel Bottemadagen (www.roelbottemadagen.nl) which is nearby Wolvega.

best regards,

Lambert

Mynheer Lambert,

"Or what about old agricultural equipment? Perhaps finding some spare parts for your bike, mr. Peters!"

Many thanks for the kind thought Lambert. I am sad to say that financial constraints curtail my capacity for foreign travel this year. I hope that all goes well and you have an excellent rally as per usual.

Pat and myself will be attending this year, planning to take a longer route there, via Calais, and then returning overnight via Hook of Holland, anyone else interested ?

Sorry to hear mr Peters! I hope I will do all right without your guidance! Maybe I'll send you some spare parts if I can find any for your agricultural  Suzuki... ;)

Just a quick note of thanks from me to all those I met at the rally, especially those who organised it all. Never have I met such a friendly bunch.

Big thanks to SteveH too for his skills with a map, only slightly tarnished by his lack of skill with an indicator and a somewhat erratic use of the throttle, especially at roundabouts! :o  Seriously though, a great trip and great company. Thanks again guys. ;D
