I'm feeling glum at not going to this year's rally, but I am already making plans for 2008.

Are any of you guys planning on doing the 08 Elefant?

Anyone caught whispering "Gumball" or "Elefanten" or similar is liable to get a rather large clip round the ear from swmbo....

Rick (XT600, Southampton) works with a bunch of guys from Poland and one of them has bet him £10 that he wouldn't / couldn't ride his bike there so we are planning to go to somewhere near Gdansk in 2008, when it is warm!
I've already got some aluminium panniers for the DR, (currently making slave frames to weld to the original pannier frames, pics to follow), crash bars for the engine and tank (courtesy Dave K) and even sump bars! The front wheel is respoked in SS and the tyres are nearly new, so with the GPS and Europe software and all the gear that I already have I'm up for it. I shouldn't have to buy anything special now!

We would expect to meet up with his colleague.

Owt for a bet!

See you guys at this years' rallies, Oh and I'll try and put on a good event for the Annual.

same as every year, I'm thinking about it :-) But Civil family finances have to be OK first, so doubtful :-(

Less than a week to go! (Sorry GC). Pretty much everything is ready, but got to get the kit loaded into the panniers at the weekend, do some final checks and get loaded next Wednesday night.

Not allowed to play out in 2008, Karen keeps on about not getting married with my leg in a pot or something similar.

 I think you all know  my opinion re the Elefant "Rally" but for 2008 I may go back to the Altelefant Rally any body else interested there is a web site when I went in 2002 it was a damm good do full of motorcyclists !!!!

never been to either, but could be interested for 2008, must be cheaper than the "real" elefant as it's closer. Are you coming to the dragon?
