hello all!
« on: January 05, 2007, 09:28:04 AM »
Hi folks,

Been out of the loop for a while; festivities and all that.

Skorp is laid up (but ready!), DR performing brilliantly (new xmas-pressie hot-grips), racer has a newly built engine, and Ebay is giving me a new race seat for it.

Anyway, I've got my new Norton Owners Club calendar up, and am busy "booking" myself in for various bad things (bird's mates' weddings, dental appointments, MOTs etc) and some good things (California Superbike School, TC rally- possible clash with aforementioned wedding-, race dates, EuroTrek on the DR with the missus, Manx GP pilgrimage).

Anyway, my point.  The Scottish Rolling Rally.  Are we still on for this??  I've had a look on the site, and the yahoo site, but cant find dates.  Smudge (or anyone) can you fill me in??

Cheers for now guys, all the best at the start of 2007!  Hope to see you soon...

Aye Andy230,

I suppose you've returned to the Smoke!

Smudge and I have exchanged messages, but at present he appears incommunicado. I have some questions for him which can await his return. I also have been trawling for hideaways, but my local contacts are still celebrating (What else do you expect?) and I await their replies as well.

I am acting purely as 'gofor' for Smudge.

Dates for rollingrally I believe are 22nd - 25th June 2007. That's the weekend after the Bob Mac at East Fortune! (See 'Events').

Once we've had another blether, I suspect Smudge will do something techi on this site or the other one to keep TC'rs up to date. Most likely in the 'dedicated' section.

Sorry to say a lot, but nothing! (Nothing changed there then.)

Look after yursel, Bill

Yup, Bill is right (as per!), I've not been so much incommunicado (good song Fish, liked it liked it... did I ever tell you I had his old boss as a forester at one point? But I digress..) as rather busy, oh and people keep giving me bottles of the "water of Life", after which things tend to get a little hazy....

Erm yeah, I'm positively definetely going to look at the links Bill sent me and erm... do something very soon... promise... (shuffles guiltily and looks hard at feet).

As Bill says, no progress and not much more news, erm, there will be a run, Friday night and Sunday night will be either here or at a nearby campsite (depending on numbers) and Saturday night will be camping out in the Ulu somewhere yet to be decided. There will almost certainly be some incohol partaken of on the Saturday pm and there *will* be some world class twisty roads on the Saturday and the Sunday.

Oh and sorry Steve for not replying to your request for info for the "events" page! I've just said "sod the admin" and done very little this holiday (hic!)

Also a public thanks again to Bill for his invaluable "gofer" work, I'm looking forward to hearing from your "contacts" once they recover from the (chemical) emotions of the festive season :)

Apologies all,
Smudge

Aye Smudge,

What's this foot shuffling and apologies? None needed, your doing your thing and I'm doing mine. As for Fish, hee hee!

Also have another URL but, may not really provide what you have in mind I suspect. Still have some thoughts and questions.

How far from Spean Bridge to Inverness for a diversion? How much dirt road tolerated - miles? How many participants?

Also I need to find out when the World Mountain Bike Championships are in Fort William and the Orienteering Championships in Aviemore. Accommodation could be difficult if they coincide with Rollingrally!

Hope the demand valve keeps working even in neat uisge beath!

Cheers, Bill

No fair!!

I'm pre-booked for an un-get-outable-of chick's mate's wedding!

I doubt very much if she's going to want to come with us and get married on the rally!!  Nice tho it would be...

I apologies profusely, but I'm gonna have to bow out at this early stage.

Grrrr!!  Will try to arrange for some attractive work colleagues I know to flirt outragously with the groom.  MAybe the bride will call it off, and I can accompany on a nice trip to the motherland!

Hmmmph!

Aye Andy,

Hope the splicing is good and that the whipping holds the ends together in good fashion. Are you having a double ceremony? Or might it be a foursome on four bikes in future years?

I'm sure a dram 'll be raised to they whom are wi' us in thought, if not in deed.

Regards, Bill
