Which bike lift?
« on: September 10, 2010, 09:17:22 PM »
Further to Mini Thumpers question in March.
Now that my shed/workshop is up I'm looking at bike lifts to start work on one of my XBR'S.
I've just seen on e-bay a home made version using a platform on a hospital bed base. (genius)
Second hand hospital beds are reasonably cheap but heavy. Could one take the weight of a medium sized bike?
Has anybody any thoughts on this.

I made one about 4/5 years ago. Superb you can have all 4 wheels moving in all directions , locked for steering when moving along longer distances and braked. I have had the MuZ on it for a major service, am GR650 Suzuki and just been able to handle the Silverwing scoot with its xtra long wheelbase, and the TS185 There were some pics in the gallery back then.
