Why do Mother-in-Laws do that, mine does it too, even the receipt most times but then if you saw the shirt she bought me for my birthday, having the receipt is a great relief.

Most interesting was a deadheat between a picture frame made from bikechain and some Ray Mears DVDs

Happy New Year All

Best present will be the dalek alarm clock for my eldest daughter (when it turns up!) I know I bought it but I still think its the best in the house!! Cant wait to hear her excitement when it wakes her up......
Worst present  - haven't got one, believe it or not. I am even happy when people buy me socks as I swear the washing machine eats them.

Other best present (for me) is the Age Of Empires III upgrade.

Thin year here at Carrick Towers.

Best presents were a Northern Soul CD box set and a toy DJ set with little decks that you can spin to make 'scratching' noises. I used to earn my living as a nightclub DJ so it made me chuckle.

Worst - erm... didn't really have enough presents to have a 'worst' although my wife not getting me presents from the kids was a bit demoralising. And yes she feels bad about it now.

Best bit was seeing my 4 year old's face when he saw Santa's snowy footsteps across the living room (a cardboard template and some sugar did the trick).

Cheers

daft innit! love the footprints idea, must remember that for next year.
This year i left runner marks on the grass, and adjacent to where the carrots had been left for rudolf, prancer..etc....a small pile of reindeer poo (bit of horse muck from the stables next door)....and hoof prints.....(hastily carved into a bit of wood and pushed into the soft turf) grandchildren loved it, and it made their old grandad go all dewey eyed

Did quite well considering the majority of "our lot" are skint. An Mp3 player was the pick which will come in handy on my train commute. Loads of deodorant type stuff and a welcome input to my shrinking wardrobe  what with new jumpers and stuff. All in all, a good year for me and, because we were out for most of the time, quite a bit of drink left indoors for me to welcome in the New Year in true TC style. Hic!

Does that include all those old B/W movie clip videos they used to do before real videos had been invented?

I remember one excellent one for 'Another Girl Another Planet' that used old sci-fi images to fill the screen whilst the song played because the BBC obviously couldn't afford to fly to the States to film the band.

Cheers
