Carb icing.
« on: December 22, 2006, 11:40:54 AM »
Calling GC and anyone else who's had this, any thoughts on the cure? Does the fuel additive work? How much do you put in?

The MZ seems to get minor icing in cold fog (Between 2 miles and 10 miles at 2C, no idle a little down on power). I'm just hoping it isn't going to turn into a show stopper in Germany.

Thanks

Andy

I didn't think of that !, maybe that's why my xr400 has been running a bit rough in this freezing fog (but ok flat out). From what I have heard the additive works ok, I would try diluting to the reccomendation on the bottle (or twice as weak and try it as I am tight).

Wasn't there a thread on this a long time ago. I seem to remember isopropyl alcohol from a chemist was one very cheap cure. Or you could use cask strength but non chill filtered whisky!!
