Sorry boydyboy can't say until nearer the time. I'm dead keen, but facing stiff opposition. I think I'll lose the battle too be honest with only a last ditched attempt at 'guilt' as my ray of hope.

Dave & Pat (and "No!" I don't mean Mr & Mrs Keeling)
No worries about confirmation. I just need a rough idea of numbers so I can let the landlord know how many might turn up.

I'll try my best to persuade SWMBO to give me a weekend pass. I might not win the battle though, as it's the last weekend of the kids summer hols, so back to school for him  ;D ;D ;D

Boyd,

I'm looking to make it for both Friday and Saturday nights. I've been working on the much neglected DR (last used at the Dragon) and hope to give it a good run out.

You may well see me well before you hear me on the Friday night, if my HID headlight upgrade goes to plan!

Excellent news! I'll contact the pub next weekend to confirm half a dozen pitches.

I'll be otherwise engaged with my other club, the Yamaha Diversion Club.

Seeing as some of you are in the area, you are more than welcome to join us on our 130 mile run through North Derbyshire (and a bit of Staffs) next Sunday, setting off from the Pavilion car park in Matlock Bath at 10:30.  I'm organising and leading it together with a couple of mates, and we use the "marker system" so nobody gets lost or left behind.  We'll be taking in Snake Pass, stopping for lunch in Hope (barbecue being laid on if the weather's any good, otherwise a buffet).  The return to Matlock Bath heads south west from Hope towards Leek, then on through Ashbourne etc.

We'll be gathering in Matlock Bath at 10:00 (or earlier for breakfast), with a short safety briefing at about 10:15.

Don't worry about not having a Diversion - most of us don't these days.  So, if you fancy a ride through some stunning countryside, please join us.

See http://diversionclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=runsmeets&action=display&thread=8396
for full details.  The bike clinic mentioned will probably not go ahead, as there's hardly any interest this year.  So I don't get to show off my limited spannering skills.

Fellow Thumpetes
Just confirmed three pitches for the Friday night (Simon, Martyn & myself) and six for the Saturday (as Friday plus TrophyDave + 2). Booked under 'Mr Brooks' Party'. I'm sure there will be plenty of room if you decide to turn up unannounced.

See you there early Friday evening.

Many thanks to all who showed. Had a good time but might be a while before I use the campsite again - reasonable site (£4.00), OK food, lousy beer! Found another pub nearby that sold Leffe on draught, and it had the desired effect; the night long church bells went unheard.

John made a few of sales and raised a couple more quid towards his journey.

Cheers

Boyd
