Hi All,
I gave up with the spanners and instead decided just to ride the bu88er (hard!). It does seem to be getting a bit better. There is still a bit more travel than I'd like, but its just about 2-fingered operation, and doesn't (quite) crush the other digits when pulled hard. It will just about scrub the front tyre, and thats good enough for me.
I think the problem is due to the pads needing to bed in, coupled to a terrible brake from new.
And (confession!) perhaps the fact that the pads were only nearly new, but not from my bike (they were a freeby, ok?!) means that it may have taken a bit longer than usual.
Interestingly, re-siting the master cylinder (ie, the lever position) made a bit of a difference too.
And I think I was just rather used to 4 months on the skorpion as a daily ride with its 1-finger brake and big disk.
Thanks for info and ideas, appreciated. I'm getting used to it again!
cheers
a
