SRX decompressor
« on: October 11, 2006, 10:05:52 AM »
Sorry guys, these SRX top end posts are getting really boring (for you, not me!)

Anyone got an idea of how to reove the decompresser from the rocker box cover.  I can't quite see whats holding it in...

In the end I may just lockwire it, (very securely this time!!!!), rather than remove it & glue in a penny as I'd previously thought.

...all that extra weight tho.....!!

If I had to guess, going by the shouder machined into the decompressor shaft I would say bolt 31 is responsible

Thank you kind sire!

I've just realised that the "manual" I got with the racer is less than complete!

Cheers Steve, catch you soon

If you wanted to you could replace the decompressor lever with a short piece of round bar of the same diameter. Leave the seal in place and get a groove the same size machined into the bar (or you could even file a slot in the bar with a round file) for the retaining bolt.

Or you could just saw up the standard lever and use that.

Good idea!  Food for thought.  May be easier in the long run.  Plus it wont fall out, like a penny, or worse, fall IN!!!  Now we just don't need that!!!
