OT - Any Scouters / anyone know Scouters? (Worldwide)

A request for help,
An aquaintance of mine collects JOTA (Jamboree on the air) and Radio Scouting badges, he had probably the largest collection in the world... until they were stolen on the last night of the Jamboree in Ireland 

So if you hear of any such badges, or see anything suspicious on ebay or whatever then please please let me know.
If you want details email me and I'll forward his request for help with pics of the collection.

Probably not much I can do here, but I would like to point out that its dirty rotten scoundrels that do these things. If you send through the details I will pass them on to branch HQ in Perth on the odd chance they may turn up here. We had some very rare, valuable and irreplacable antique items stolen from out museum at the Scout Hall a few years ago.

Its reading things like this that make me feel physically sick with disgust, fear and sadness. I had a bike nicked once and that felt bad, but I could easily get another. To have such a large collection of rare things taken is unthinkable.What a bunch of lowlife.

Hello Scouts...

During the last night of the Jamboree in Ireland (8.-9.8.) somebody has
stolen my Radio scouting and JOTA Badges collection.
This are about 300 rare Badges. Many of you know this collection.
In Ireland at the last day of the Jamboree the most of the scouts
were schocked, that anybody stolen a collection of a Scout...
They are doing here many, but till now there is no luck.
Please hold a eye open for me, when any Scout want to sell many JOTA
badges or show a big JOTA collection.
As attachement send you a picture of this blanket.
When you want to see which badges are on this blanket you can see it
under www.radio-scouting.de/badges .
PLEASE help me that this thief had no fun with this collection.
The police here in Ireland knows allready about this problem and will
also look for them.I think also many scout around the world.
PLEASE send this mail to every friend of you or take them on your webpage.

Noted.  I'll circulate the info around teh County.  We have a couple of old scouters (met Baden Powell types) who are sometimes offered such memorabilia.

Similar thing happened to Jules at The Elefant in 2006.
His hat went missing,along with quite a few Dragon Rally Badges attatched.

It may be a longshot, but is your friend keeping an eye on fleabay? The thief might be dumb enough to try to sell the badges. Hope he gets them back.

Yup there are a few people keeping an eye on fleabay but more never hurt  if you see anything you know what to do!
