If the Cossack club are there then I'm guessing we will have to dig out our furry hats?

Afternoon one and all, this being dogsbollocks from the COC. silly question that- Fur hats are compulsery, also the ability to drink lots and talk fluent bollox does help, lol. We've been doing it for years. But in all seriousness, it's looking like being a good rally, we can do a run out if needed, I only live 27 miles away and work in the lakes , so know the area backwards.we'll see you there, regards from trevor

Organised as ever Steve, and much appreciated!

My plan is to get there late afternoon/early evening on the Friday. Probably be on the DR assuming it fires up OK, having not been used since about July!

That is excellent, apart from the Cossack owners we seem to be getting quite a few others now and Terry is coming up as well as some chaps from the XT site on more Tenere's. PS I made sure that we have a good supply of charcoal as well, as I intend to spend as little as poss in the pubs!!!! ;)

Sadly Steve I won't be able to make it  :'(

The battery I bought for the XBR at the beginning of the year has just died big time!  From charged at night to so dead in the morning it won't even kickstart! I dare'nt risk taking it all that way and I can't afford a new battery and a weekend away  >:( >:(

Sorry mate..hopefully I can get to a few more next year.

Not to worry Steve I'm sure that there will be plenty of other opportunities.
So far it looks like we will have a reasonable turnout as Alan intends to come for the Thursday evening, GC is coming up as is Terry, Simon, Beeman, Pat, and Colin. Rick is too busy at the moment and I know is itching to get his hands on the 'Lud' so we will have to arrange something another time. Anyhow anyone that can make it will be welcome and warm as I have the usual Jiko to hand and of course the marquee with tea and coffee. The weather looks as though it will be OK but then I don't care as I always enjoy myself. See you guys there. ;D

Blimey what a weekend, despite the weather what an excellent time. I recon at least 40 bikes of all types. Irish lads turned up and the usual mottley crew of thumpeteers. Another XTZ and the Cossack lads. Weather crap and windy but who cares, I had a great rideout with another bloke from the XT660 crowd. Loadsa beer, late nights in the marquee, Micks famous breakfasts and more laughs than I can remember. A big thanks to those that helped me with the marque and a big thankyou from me personally to the stalwarts that did come for making the weekend go so well. Cheers SteveD

Sorry I sloped off without helping with your erection, I was a bit worried about the ride home (borrowed bike so no breakdown cover, combined with an apparent slow puncture in the chair wheel) and I was running an hour and a half behind the schedule I'd posted with the controller (SWMBO).

Having said that, I got home at 6.00 and she seemed happy enough. Then she said "you look like crap". I had one reply, "Absinthe".

What a great event Steve, well flipping done.

I set off at 6.30 Saturday morning. I saw the sun starting to show itself as I passed the Malvern hills and I rode in unbroken sunshine from then on until I got to Lancaster... after that it pissed down ::) I got to the site in Dent around lunchtime, wet and stressed. However, the marquee was up and the kettle was on. Lots of old faces to greet, lots of new faces to meet, lots of 'piddle in the dark (4.7%)' to drink... and some absinthe courtesy of the Antrim crowd.

Breakfast in the farmhouse on Sunday was magnificent and the ride home (worries aside) went well.

I had a fantastic time Steve, thanks for everything, especially that GS-baiting ride on your new Ténéré, what a nice bike.

Cheers
GC

Yesindeedie, a cracker of a weekend. ;D Didn't try the Absinthe but the home made vodka had the effect of puting my eyes 3" inside my skull in the morning. Let me tell you, I'm never drinking that with beer, cider, red wine and brandy again!

Managed to get lost going home, which when you consider was straight down the M6 was quite a feat of ineptitude. Set off well before you GC but didn't get home till nearly 7! Thank God I came up with mother Boyd (thanks again buddy) or I'd still be riding around the Dales.

Great to catch with mates and meet some new ones. Your mate on the XTZ was a laugh SteveD.
Cheers again.

Yep fun weekend, nice to meet you all. Definitely going to any doo's you have in the future. though I'll have to bring the other SRX and not the 'go to work nail' that i turned up on.  ;)
