Crankcase studs

Calling Yamaha experts!  You know who you are!   ;)

Could you have a look at the Team-Thumper blog:

http://team-thumper.blogspot.com

about the crankcase studs?

I have built it up using studs, spacers, washers, bolts etc as per the SRX manual.

The barrel is 3AJ (XT600, 595cc) part.  Cases are XTZ.

Originally, I think the XTZ uses bolts to hold down the water-cooled barrel.

And the XT had ally sleeve nuts on the alternator side.

The SRX uses short studs on the clutch side.  THe long one looks ok, but the short (prescribed) part is too short.

Anyone got a manual for the XT parts?  Is it the same as the SRX?  I've got an SRX manual and an XTZ.

Think I'll have to use two "long" studs on the clutch side (short ones on the SRX), and custom "even longer" ones on the "long" (alternator) side.

Am I confusing you yet???!

I have parts lists for the XT600 3TB, 4PT9 and 4PTA models, apparently european models but not models I'm familiar with. I can stick then on a temporary share if you want then.

Hello Steve,

Info on the crankcases (ie. stud part #s) and the barrels (washer, spacer, fixings part #s) would be good.

Do you know if "3AJ" was an XT model??  and of any differences between them??

Much appreciated, or you can just email them to me if you like?  Hotmail can take pretty big attachments?

cheers for now

Aye Andy,

Have left commisarations on previous thread. ???

List of XT/TT model numbers from the Table 1, Page 26, Clymers manual available if required.

XT600U    1988  3EW-000101-on
XT600UC  1988  3EW-002101-on
XT600W    1989  3EW-004101-on
XT600WC  1989  3EW-007101-on

TT600K  1983  34K-000101-on
TT600L  1984  34K-020101-on

Others in table but no "3AJ" to be seen :( However, these may just be models sent to USA, hence in the Clymer manual. European may be different numbers.

Sorry not to be more helpful.

My regards, Bill.
