I have a Wasp sidecar with no tug (I'm selling the GB that used to pull it).

I have an XBR with a nasty frame (bent and patched). I also have an XBR with a good frame but a blown engine.

Do I use the nasty framed bike to pull the chair or do I consign the nasty frame to the garage rafters and combine the two bikes to make one good one.

Just to add some complexity, the good bike has been modified to accept a Bing carburettor and I'm itching to try it out with a good engine. However, it runs with a K&N filter, not an airbox. Would this be a wise choice for winter riding?

Cheers
GC

Aye GC,

Quandary?

This might ammuse: www.halfbakedsoftware.com/quandary

On the other hand, sell the knackered frame to keep the furnaces at Port Talbot burning bright. 8) Put the two into one test into practise, and why should a K&N be worse than an airbox? ??? The main problem could be an increased propensity to ice the inlet on cold damp misty Welsh valley mornings. You've already been there and solved that problem 8), so why the quandry?

Positive thoughts GC. ;)

May I also suggest that you get out on 10th November to 'The Metropole', Abertillary. Catfish Keith, playing solo bluesman, 12 string steel guitar and 'stomp' board at 20:00hrs. Also workshop in the afternoon at 14:00hrs. For details:www.catfishkeith.com  ;D The Edinburgh gig was really good.

My regards, Bill.

It's the icing problem that worries me.

Jethro selfishly ( :)) left his job at a Triumph dealer before he could get around to 'sourcing' a Trumpy carb heater element from an insurance or warranty bike. I was hoping to finally nail this problem by tapping said item into an XBR carb.

How about a few turns from an old electric fire element - might warm it up on icy mornings - mind might also set the whole lot off as well.  Maybe I have had better ideas.
