Might interest someone?
« on: January 19, 2024, 11:41:27 AM »
Just popped into what is now my local bike shop (Classic Bike Shop in Redditch) and noticed a smart looking CCM outside. The proprietor says he may be sellng it - asking price perhaps £3750. Looked good to me. 2011 registration.

Yes but you’ve forgotten the BIG problem with it.
The name on the tank. Which stands for “clearly crap manufacturer”
Name withheld to protect the idiot that bought one 😉

No I’ll rephrase that, it actually stands for “Crap Customer Management”
I’m still withholding my name as I’m still the IDIOT that bought one 🤦???😉

Yes, I remember the saga. However this one might be old enough to have had the bugs worked out of it - and anyway you wouldn't be dealing with the manufacturer any more.

As a genuine idiot, not a trans idiot, I object to cultural appropriation by people who simply thought they were dealing with a reputable company when they made a purchase in good faith labelling themselves as idiots. We genuine idiots would have bought a Spitfire anyway even if we knew the company was crap.

I do agree with Ian S that buying a CCM from a bike shop is one removed from dealing with the crappy company itself. I'm only saying this in case I find a bag full of money and can afford to buy that lovely bike.

A very fair and valid point indeedy. I must apologise for my outburst of what I can only assume is pent up frustration which is obviously still lurking somewhere in my pea brain. It just seems to come out whenever I see or hear the words/letters CCM mentioned. But hey I’m not bitter 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve moved on to greater things now and I’m trying to put all the CCM debacle behind me 😉
I now own a smashing, lovely, great... triumph 900 speed twin. Bought from a company that knows how to treat it’s paying customers.
I feel upon releasing all my pent up frustration I can now hold my head up and sign off using my name😉
Cheers, Michael

Have I missed an episode of Michael's Bikes? I thought you had a Trident? Not that I blame you for having a Triumph twin, they strike me as very lovely motorbikes and make super all-round bikes. I road tested an 865 Bonneville a couple of years ago which unfortunately developed a fault on the test ride which the dealer fixed (faulty TPS sensor) but by that time I was put off and I regret not buying it as the moment is now gone.

I think I too missed out on the end of the CCM saga and the acquisition of the Triumph. I'm sure Michael will recap for those of us who might not have got the full SP.

Well gents, I’m now on my second triumph since I got rid of the CCM. First off I bought a 660 trident, which I part exchanged the CCM for. Lovely bike and previously having had three speed triples I knew I’d like the trident. The only down side for me personally was I find it a tad “buzzy” and just lacked the grunt of the lager triples obviously. I ran that for just over a year then part exchanged it for a 900 speed twin which I absolutely love, cracking bike.
Re the CCM.... I fell out with the company a lot more than I did the actual machine. It cost me 12 mucho grando to buy and it was tainted with Soddy service for the get go, firstly I was told I’d have it in the November, I eventually took delivery of the bike the following April, and that was only after demanding I got the bike, as they’d had ALL my money since the November 😡
I won’t bore you any longer but needless to say there were a few other VERY Soddy customer service issues I had once I’d got the bike. So I simply decided to cut my losses while I still could and went for the trident. Fortunately I didn’t lose to much with the part ex against the trident 👍
So as I say I mainly fell out with CCM the company, not necessarily the bike, although it didn’t really live up to it’s 12 grand price tag of supposed exclusivity.
So that’s where I’m at, I’ve now got a 900 speed twin and recently bought a little Honda msx125 Grom for more “winter” riding.
