Packaging
« on: January 15, 2024, 10:23:51 AM »
Hi All

I suppose really this should be in Humour as I am taking the wee wee out of myself, but it isn't a joke.

I ordered a piece of 6mm aluminium plate from ebay so that I can make replacement chain adjuster plates for Newzuki as one of them unscrewed and I lost it whilst out on a ride.

This morning my parcel arrived all lovely and safe and wrapped really well. I think with careful use of an angle grinder, file and my new-to-me pillar drill I should have the parcel open by Thursday!

Well Ian, thought I’d give you a couple of days, have you managed to break through all the packaging to get to the lovely shiny sheet of ally plate that awaits. Hopefully you eventually got in and hopefully without injury 🔪🔨😉

I buy all my metal from a local supplier - very cheap and also does internet orders if you're not in Redditch or Coventry.

They're happy to supply me with tiny bits of all sorts of aluminium alloy etc.

Thanks Ian, I usually 'borrow' my metal from a friend of mine who has a metalwork business, but he doesn't use aluminium in anything he makes.

I may try to take and post photos Michael, but I don't know if what I make will be worth showing in the illustrious company kept by Thumper Club!

Sadly I’ve lost my means of posting photos as Matt (Mthee) seems to no longer frequent the site, which is a same in more ways than one as I used to like his humour. NOT that I’ve got anything to actually take a photo of at the moment 🤦???🤦??? 😁
