Yes, absolutely cracking job Tommy. Have you done most of the mods yourself? My tracker project has an FMX650 engine in it. Not finished or running yet but if I can getting looking as nice as yours I’ll be happy 👍
Cheers, Michael

Aye Tommy,

That is a testament to your skills and perseverence.

Hope you can have the op. sooner, rather than later and swing your leg over the beastie some time this year.

All the best, Bill

Hi Tommy - hope you are keeping better - your last off must have been a real setback.
That looks like a great project and is a real credit to you. Is that based on the one you rode up to the Shepherds Rest a few years back? That was a real nice bike too. I have been gathering up a few parts and hope to do something similar if i can ever find the time.
I was lucky enough to pick up a lovely GB500 just before Covid after years of searching. It was one of those "Bucket List" bikes but I'm not sure whether to hold on to it though as i like my XBRs and they definitely have more go.

Regards

Tony

hi tony how are you , hope your well yeah got pretty bashed up for sure ,and i have another operation next month to look foward to ,but that should see me fully sorted in a couple of months ,thats the bodywork off that xbr i still have that one but its  in the standard burgundy colour ,i would also love a gb 500 but they dont come up for sale here much or else there silly money, i think the exhaust on the gb is very restricted  so they dont seem to have the same poke as a xbr , tommy

Hi Tommy, keeping well thanks. Yes, the GB has a fairly restrictive exhaust which also weighs a fair bit too. I got hold of Jack Batson stainless system from the US which is very light and frees up a bit of performance but it is too loud for me (must be an age thing :) - so I'm back to the standard system. The funny thing about the XBR is that they always sounded great with the standard pipes - I think even at the time Honda must have just about scraped it through the the noise regulations.
I probably mentioned it previously but I picked up another XBR a few years ago with a rotted out tank but otherwise in decent condition - I didn't realise until I was checking it over that it was a very early one with the frame number of 30. Apparently the first of the UK bikes was 27 so I'll probably restore that one (eventually!)

All the best and I hope you are back on 2 wheels before too long

Tony
