I thought the speedo was broken initially, but then I realised I was looking at the tacho which was barely moving! Love the noise - I have no opinion of the man himself, other than that he is clearly very talented, however he does it!
Yes, I also did that with the tacho Pete. I then thought holy shamolee the thing is barely moving 🤣

I am nothing if not stubborn so I respectfully refute the assertion that any man can craft such loveliness without years of experience. When I was an apprentice painter and decorator we spent ages just rubbing stuff down, never mind moving on to picking up an actual paint brush so to believe this man's lies is too much for me. The day I can take him a flat sheet of aluminium and stand and watch him is the day I might recant my accusations.

Blimey I went all Spanish Inquisition for a minute. Let me just be clear, Allen Millyard has skills beyond me even if I spent the next 100 years practising those skills so why lie and big himself up? I know what I am good at and feel no need whatsoever to pretend to be good at things I'm not. I always feel much happier around the humble than the vain. Oh blimey Torquemada has come out to play again!

Don’t be to harsh on yourself spartacian, yes clearly his videos are “edited” so miss out HUUUGE portions of the work. It’s that bit that I too am a tad sceptical about. Does he then disappear down to his local fab shop and for instance get all those sheets he’s bashed into submission to form the petroleum tank and get them all welded up professionally?.. Who knows🤷???. I’m definitely NOT taking anything away from the bloke as like you say he’s clearly naturally gifted. Plus don’t forget, he’s now buddies with, love or loathe him. Henry Cole. Who obviously knows exactly how to go about making things look simple once they’re put onto celluloid. Again to put things into just a little more perspective, when I used to be doing a lot of wetrooms as my main source of living. I honestly had two different people say to me... “it’ll take three weeks !!!.... they do it in 24hrs on the TV” 🤦???🤦???
The world sadly is full of “Sheople” ....”computer/TV says” full of em I tell ya, they couldn’t make an informed decision if their life depended on it.
Cheers, Michael

I'm stuck on motive. I mean, why demean your work and reputation by making claims that are so outrageous as to change your fellow engineers, fabricators, et al, usual applause to derision?

Thank you Michael, balanced as usual.

MTHEE, if I have to start thinking about things like motive how can I hold a proper prejudice? My motive for dissing the man, to use a modern term, could be utter jealousy because if I drill two holes one of them will be in the wrong place. Also I could be jealous of the wonderful bikes he creates, especially the 500, 2 stroke Kawasaki twin he made from leftovers. I could be jealous, not saying I am but I could be............

The thing I’ve found interesting about this particular thread is how it/he seems to slightly divide opinions which has surprised me, it’s a bit like his buddy Henry Cole. Personally I quite like both of them. Ultimately they both love two wheels which is alright in my book 👍

Totally agree with you there Michael.
Can we expect another season of The Moerbike Show this Spring I wonder?
There's loads of car programmes on TV but virtually nothing on bikes that I can find worth watching.

Henry Coles style of delivery grates with me a bit. Far too many 'hey man' s for me. I do remember the 60s and 70s but most of us have moved on! Having said that, if it wasn't for HC, there'd be the square root of FA on the telly about bikes, so I can tolerate his little idiosyncrasies .

I think its a great series Bill, and so refreshing to see groups of vets handicapped as a result of fighting for their country, laughing and joking and getting on with their live's. Makes a change from the constant parade of whinging, entitled idiots we generally see on TV...

Just watched the first episode. Brilliant. Can't see anything matching this, it's got all the good ingredients, even an English wheel and square teabags 😁👍 Thanks for posting the link, Bill.

I've seen a couple of the speedshop episodes and although my initial thoughts were "oh no, not another ageing hippy pretending to be a mechanic" I've actually been won over. He does seem like a genuine bloke although in the second episode did make rather a meal of fitting and modifying a sidecar. Better than Mr Cole and his mate any day IMO.
