Paul Smart R.I.P.

I only found out today that Paul was killed in a road accident a couple of days ago and feel gutted. Paul's class win of the 1967 Barcelona 24 hr endurance race on a road registered Ducati 250 Narrowcase Mk 3 he shared with Reg Everett, was I think, one of his greatest rides.

R.I.P. Paul.

Always some how seems to be a very sad irony when a great racer.  Hailwood, Smart and not forgetting Nicky Hayden, are killed in a road accident. They spend their lives on the limit so somehow just kind of seems unjust that they are taken in this way.

Sad news indeed. Just up the road from me and not the first at that spot by the Flimwell bypass. RIP
