I couldn't agree more. Over the years there have been several of these 'new in a crate' bikes offered for sale, including a Commando and a BMW K100. It is at first very tempting to see them as 'brand new' but sadly the reality is they aren't. They have had X number of years sat in goodness knows what conditions probably with no oil in. I would much rather buy a nicely restored example which has been run and regularly maintained.
