Wheel machining
« on: May 07, 2007, 06:44:27 PM »
Can anyone recommend an engineering company who can machine the disc mounts on my rear wheel. After much measuring an faffing about I've realised that not only are all the disc mounts are different heights but they vary in height radially as well. As soon as the bolt is tightened it tilts the disc and warps it. Joy

Would another wheel be cheaper, as long as that isn't warped!

With standard wheels it would probabaly be the easiest options but its my spoked wheels. I might try and find another hub, but then would have to have it painted and then the rim moved across.

There we go - Benny Hill is turning my Aprilia 125 wheel in to jam doughnuts...

So long as it works - and I measured it right we should be OK

He's only there in the mornings and be prepared for a lengthy visit, he likes a chat.

He will need the wheel spindle and nut too.

Sounds like Terry Hobbs - God rest his little cotton socks.  If he did not say fook and bloody in the last six words you were not listening.  And Monty his No2 was so mild mannered and quietly spoken - even when the following happened.

Me "Two gudgeon pin circlips please"
Monty "What for?"
Me "To stop the gudgeon pin coming out of the piston"
Monty "Yup, but what engine?"
