A grand day out
« on: March 21, 2021, 12:09:21 AM »
Some of the NI thumperists enjoyed a socially distanced day out taking advantage of a rare dry spell. Mostly back roads along the river Bann. Photo taken outside the (Closed) Seamus Heaney centre for those of you into your literature - dressed for  typical Northern Irish weather (summer or winter!). Local legend suggests that the gateposts were sourced from an armaments factory based in Antrim in WW2. Chris made sure they were empty! Good to get out for a few hours.

Regards

Tony

Interesting to see the wire wheels right next to the boomerangs🤔

Those two gentlemen on the bench are DEFINITELY NOT 2 metres apart. I’m calling the fuzz man🚓😉
Hopefully the first of many ride outs to come, given the weather is turning for the better.
Yes as Matt says good to compare the wire wheels next to the comstars.
Cheers, Michael

Hi Tony, nice to see you're getting out and about, was that Ronnie on the bench with Chris?
How did Chris test the bombs?...not by banging the tit on the end I hope? ::)
Must meet up again soon.
Dave.

Hi Dave, good to hear from you (and everyone). Hope you and Pat are keeping well.
Yes, that's the infamous Ronnie - you'll be glad to hear that like his jokes he hasn't changed a bit!
As for Chris, we made sure we were standing well back as he approached them :-)

All the best

Tony

Hi Tony, all good here....hardly bought any petrol over the last few months, but I had the excuse of going for an MOT today for my DR800 on SORN....nice ride and it passed.
We've been going out on the e-bikes for the last few months which is good fun, some excercise and no interest from the Police when we dip into Wales on the cycle paths, as we live near the border.
Shouldn't be too long until we're free to roam again.
Dave.

Hello Dave,
It's been a while, but I heard my name mentioned and thought I'd better respond. Great to hear Pat and yourself are still making a nuisance of yourselves. Best wishes to you both. As for myself, I've kept my looks, although everything south of my face has sagged a bit. My sparkling personality is still the same. The social distancing on our Grand Day Out has been brought into question. Tony, well meaning anorak that he is, decided to bring a length of wood exactly one metre long to help us judge the required distance.(Two metres stuck out too much from the sides of his bike). Anyway, at our coffee stop, the pair of us sat at opposite ends of the bench. Tony then measured between myself and Chris, exactly one metre, then from Chris to me, again one metre.  1x2 = 2 metres.

Ron.

Aye timbo,

Good to see you still in circulation, albeit at low level.

Good health and keeping eating the pies!  ;)

Hello Tim, it's only me. This is the recent purchase. That'll be the 13th then. Don't know whether I'm taking too much medication or not enough. Take care and keep the front wheel of the Himalayan down.
