If only I could get past the shape of the lump?? For some reason, it just doesn't do it for me. Looks a bit squashed down.
Anyhow, I have been lusting after a Guzzi, mostly either of the Grisos and even toyed with the idea of a Harley Roadster for a while - helps to pass the time. In terms of one lumpers, I was very keen on going slower on an Enfield Classic 500 and then I thought about going faster on a KTM Duke 690.

Well you're certainly considering all options. The KTM690 is pretty manic. The exact opposite of the classic RE 500 single-the EFI (UCE)  has a  much more modern feel. The Grisos are great but very heavy. I think the 4 valve 12200 Griso has some engine issues. I had a new 1100 Griso for my 50th birthday. Nice bike but too heavy for me now.

MY mate has stripped the rear brake today and one of the pistons wasn't fully moving due to a bit of corrosion. All cleaned and re-greased now.

That's good - I read a lot about people using copper grease for this sort of thing, for which it's entirely unsuitable.
