Very nice looking bike

Thanks JOOLZ, it is getting quite a bit of use during the good weather, 1000 miles just coming up. Had a couple of minor adjustments to do but nothing serious. I'm pretty happy with it.
(Red one now sold 🙄)

Many thanks for your lovely comments Steve. In a bit of a twist, I was going out on the SRX today for a run out to Dinky's Dinah on the Welshpool Road out of Shrewsbury. I opened the fuel cap to check how much (E5) fuel was in said tank. "Not enough methinks". I jog off to garage...tried to open (new) Fuel Cap... Ha ha...locking mechanism decides to shear off...back off home with tail between my legs.. now have to decide how to remove locking filler cap (aircraft type) without too much damage 🤔
 any suggestions????.

Hi Ian, i had a similar problem with the mono tank on the rolling chassis i sold a couple of months ago, lost key so couldn't open it.
I removed all the allen bolts (6?) , then i could lift the whole filler assy a bit at the front, enough to get a screwdriver in (covered in a bit of leather to protect the paintwork etc), and managed to pry it up and out without damaging the latch assy (you need to be a bit 'firm' with it). then took the whole thing to my local locksmith who , within the hour had provided me with 2 keys for the princely sum of £15.

I seem to remember you talking boocks most of the time Michael

As an aside....I tried Steve's suggestion and the casting snapped straight in 2 with very little effort. At least I was able to remove it very easily after that 😁.....claim now in at supplier but not holding my breath 😟

Steve, it was never in doubt that I was going to have to damage it to remove it. I was grateful for the suggestion. Sh_it happens now and then 🙄😂😁

I am surprised it broke .. was it a genuine yam part? .... maybe mine was just old and well worn and a bit of a slack fit.

Steve, it was a very poor pattern part (obviously) but the genuine item is a mind blowing £184.04!!
