Now if you turned up at the 'Parky nether regions rally' with one of these and sufficient fuel, I suspect that you would be welcomed with open arms!  ;D

Bill.... ain’t you heard the news. Log burning fires are being banned from 2021. No gas in any new build from January 2020, got to install an “alternative fuel” 🤔😢

Ayup Mick

Assuming you're not taking the mickey (no pun intended) I thought logs are an alternative fuel! What does qualify?

Gentlemen,

My understanding is that the legislation only covers England and Wales!  ;D  Scotland, so far, hasn't seen fit to follow suit.

Whilst you will still be able to burn wood, it must be certifiably "kiln dried" or seasoned wood that has a moisture content of less than 15% (?), I think.  :-\

Up here the majority of firewood merchants already kiln dry their wood, using wood fired dryers, to ~15% moisture content, before bagging or netting for re-sale and store the product undercover. There is going to be the 'fly by night' element, who will always try to punt green arboricultural 'risings' (lop and top, or timber), without seasoning, to avoid paying landfill tax etc. Quite who in the E&W Local Authorities depleted army of officials in Environmental or Trading Standards Departments is going to police this is anybodies guess!  ::)

As for incinerating politicians, the resulting pollution and stench would be very noxious!  :-X

It would appear that the urban yuppie in trying to return to their perceived country roots, thought that the Clean Air Act didn't apply to them. As a result of urban and suburban open fires and stoves burning inappropriate fuels, coupled with the huge increase in the use of diesel fuel engines in all forms of transport, especially SUV's etc, rather than lean burn petrol engines, the Government lost its case in the High Court and had until April 2017 to set out a new Environmental Pollution Policy including a Clean Air Act. This is all part of this revision of legislation. If you need further background info, Google it!  ;)
