Almost the end of summer
« on: September 24, 2019, 10:36:58 AM »
My XBR comes off the road at the end of the month, Im hoping to get one or two rides in weather dependant. I have been really impressed by the reliability, I managed the speed and power last year no problem but got let down by pipes blowing off and air leaks into the plenum. I had 1 niggle early in this seasons ride with high to unbelievably high fuel consumption figures but that has been sorted, I now get around 38 to the gallon riding normally. Racked up almost 1500 miles not much by some of your standards but I can only go out when my wife is well enough. Only one major job to do this winter is to get the fork legs rechromed, Im still thinking about putting a belly pan on it, a job I was going to do last year but ran out of time and money. I hope you have all had a great summer ride

Thank you Joolz, I cannot complain about the mileage, company and quality of the canters so far this year. Pleased your beastie has largely behaved itself this season and that you have been able to enjoy the fruit of your labours.

All the best, Bill

Yeah, nice (warm) work! I can't believe we're at the beginning of autumn again, already  :(
62years on from his first BSA Bantam, my uncle has sold his Ducati Supersport to buy an MGB, explaining that he wanted to quit whilst ahead, having never suffered a serious smash.
