Register of specialist Skills /services

I managed to find Phil Joy the camshaft bloke through the kind postings on the forum.
I tracked down John Hemming who'll make up pretty much any sort of sprocket one could want [he had a whole batch for Morgan three wheelers when I was round there]. In a year or so someone else may want a camshaft mended or reprofiled and the whole process will start all over again.
I'd like the address of wheel builders, though I'm going to try myself first of all [it can't be any harder than mountainbikes]
I know of three suzuki dealers who are good for spares and another who carries lots of old plastics.
Do others also think it would be a good idea to have a resource page that members can add to when they find  a specialist with an  elusive obscure but needed NOW skill/service?

Yeah you are right Cloggy, but why try to do the wheel yourself?. I recently had my DR750 wheels respoked in Stainless Steel, £55 per wheel which included the spokes! .........and this bloke is good!

Hi Cloggy

Central Wheel Components in Birmingham are good for wheel building and parts. C. Wylde Motorcycles come recommended too although I've never used them. They're in Leeds. For £55 though, I'd be tempted to follow SteveD's advice and get someone to do it for you.

A resource list is a top idea.

Well actually I want to have two new front drumbrake hubs  with secondhand rims and spokes, although maybe I could run to new spokes but at £70+ for rims I can't be arsed, as a kid I never could be bothered to paint my airfix kits, and nothing's changed. The idea is  I have a set of offroad and onroad wheels for my 1981 DR. But all this is offtopic.

Information  as that in the  previous post should be on a page in the site permanently . Stuff such as that would increase the use of the site.  How do this get sorted? I'm new to this site, my experince of website forums is mainly mountainbike stuff, I'm a rights of way expert [In the court of the blind the one eyed man is king]

brilliant!

Excellent idea!  I had some brilliant service from an Ebay trader I found looking for levers for the DR.  Will also use him for race spares etc.  Top bloke, and did a lot of searching around, eventually sent him a photo of the broken on e and he sorted it out.  (bike is a US import).
