New petrol tank
« on: March 06, 2014, 12:00:55 PM »
I gave up on fitting the CB250rs tank, it just didnt look right, made the rear end look too fat and didnt match up with the seat smoothly.
I decided to use a CX500 tank, looks loads better and flows with the existing lines of the bike and looks like a cafe racer tank.
I have also fitted a monza cap for a more traditional look, Just needs painting now

Tank looks great Joolz. . (Nearly as good as the wheelz!)  Did it fit without mods. I'm looking for a tank to rebuild my spares machine next year. Might find a CX one a bit easier ?

It needs a few mods to fit, Honda hornet 600 front tank mounting rubbers, and the rear mount needs to be shortened and attached to the battery box front hinge mount with a 90' bracket. The seat also needs modifying at the front. The wheels were the key to building this project, Thank you
