Yes it does look good; the general specification looks to be very high, although maybe a little down on engine power. You'd need to view one 'in the metal' so to speak to see how good the build quality is. Most Chinese motorcycles I've seen so far have tended to be nicely styled but, on close inspection,  suffer badly on general finish.

maybe but first you should know who`s producing the bike  and look who does :

i mean honda has a reputation to lose
and for the engine power the new honda fmx 650 has not more power

"whilst the Taiwanese Cheng Shin tyres provide superb road holding and wear resistance."

There was a time that nobody would dare say that about Cheng Shins :-)

Well they're half right (shudder) I remember the Cheng Shin's of old :o very economical tyres... 1 because no-one who leant over on corners kept them on the bike long enough to wear them out and 2 because they were tougher than the tarmac (but with less grip... MUCH less grip!). Mind you, Bridgestones used to be pretty horrendous as well and they seem to be ok now... so who knows.... more importantly when are they building a diesel?!? ;)

38 bhp isn't so shabby really. My old SLR only put out a couple more horses with an extra 50cc's and that was a decent enough ride (though not on faster roads where the sit-up-and-beg style was an issue).  It could be a worthy successor to the Dommie at a knock-down price. To my mind there's a little bit of Funduro/Pegaso influence in there too. Very nice, I think.

$3500 !! for a brand new 600 cc thumper isnt bad that means around  £1,922 for a bike with full 2 years warranty
but it isn`t build by jiailing honda its build by jialing and AVL a austrian company
http://sameerkumar.blogspot.com/search/label/Jialing

but jialing is still part of honda group ...so it would surprice me if honda would allow them to build crap because everyone will assosiate jialing with honda as its part of honda
