North West Wales Re-visited
« on: February 27, 2007, 08:33:50 AM »
Hi,
I am thinking of a little jaunt on the 9th-11th of March. Nothing formal, in all
likelihood I will be staying at:
http://www.snowdonia-park.co.uk/brewpub.html
on Saturday night, not decided on the Friday

Anyone interested in trying a few of the very small mountain roads?

I'll have to see how work pans out but looks good and I know quite a few good roads as well. The pub looks excellent!

I am thinking of camping near Dolgellau on the Friday night - hopefully I'll be able to find a campfire campsite. Then working up north on a number of mountain roads followed by Sat at the campsite above. I plan to take the Bullet so road speeds will not be anything dazzling.

PS Pat, hope you can make it let me know closer to the date.

Lots of Dont knows here

Opposite the cliffs at Tremadoc there used to be a cafe - Eric's.  Next to the cafe was a campsite.  Dont know if it allows fires - but you used to get woken by Eric with a mug of tea and a weather report.  Cafe pretty good too - and the climbing is magnifcent - especially with a mug of tea watching the lycra gods attempting "Peaches and Cream"

Eric's Cafe is still there. We were there a few weeks ago. He also has a bunkhouse, I think it's on the opposite side of the road below the cliffs.

Think I'm a 'No show' I'm afraid :-(
Starting to get very grumpy about all this, I'm 8 weeks in and no real improvement. Can ride, but the comute to work (14 miles) is just about enough. When I get there it takes me 5 mins to walk properly again.

Have fun buddy, I'm really sorry not to be there but I doubt I'd make the ride to yours let alone N. Wales.

Heyho! Back to the Docs on Friday and trying to get a referal to the Osteo unit. Wish me luck.

PS Steffan do we need to book camping? It's something that I normally do not do!" But I'll turn up in any case as I know of other sites around there.
