black micron 2-1 exhaust
« on: April 09, 2013, 09:05:56 PM »
Hi, I have just purchased an '88 xbr 500 which is fitted with a black chrome micron 2-1 exhaust system. The black chrome finish has come off in some sections and there are some light scratches to the surface. What is the best way if any to restore the finish?

I've found black wood-stove or barbecue paint to work very well. It sticks to anything and likes heat. Get the brush-on kind; the spray stuff is worthless. Sand the surface a bit first, but it's not fussy.
