XBR rebuild
« on: December 12, 2011, 03:32:08 PM »
I have started the rebuild of the xbr, so far I have stripped the engine and discovered a few problems, the kick start support bearing is scored and will need dressing with a light rub of very fine emery, and I shall investigate why this has been so dry. The second problem is the amount of radial play on the little end, this has meant a new conrod I brought a performance model for an xr / xl engine so it should hold up well on my machine, so its off to Eastwood racing again for a crank rebuild. All the electric start components have been removed permanently and I was very surprised at the weight of it all. Suzanne thinks I am getting New bike by stealth. For the rebuild pictures and information I will post the rest of this in the project progress part of the forum
